Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken with Bok Choy Rice

A slow cooker is our secret weapon to ensure sweet, savory and tender chicken. Pair that with Royal® Basmati Rice, which cooks up tender and delicious every time, and you have an easy, fool-proof dinner.
Ingredients
For the Chicken
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
4 garlic cloves, crushed
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
For the Rice
1 tablespoon grapeseed or avocado oil
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced bok choy
1 1/2 cups Royal® Basmati Rice
Preparation
- In a slow cooker whisk together soy sauce, honey, hoisin, sesame oil and garlic.
- Place chicken in slow cooker, turning to coat with hoisin mixture, and cover.
- Cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 3-4 hours or until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165℉.
- Reserve hoisin mixture.
- In a medium saucepan heat oil over medium.
- Add bok choy and cook, stirring, until wilted, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in rice and 2 1/4 cups water, bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer until tender, 20 minutes.
- Serve chicken over rice. Skim and discard any oil from hoisin mixture and serve alongside chicken and rice
