Ingredients
1 cup Royal® Whole Wheat Chakki Atta (flour)
1 cup crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Ghee or oil for frying
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, soft dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix crumbled paneer, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll them into smooth balls. Similarly, divide the paneer mixture into 4 equal portions.
- Take one portion of the dough and roll it out into a small circle (about 4-5 inches in diameter) on a lightly floured surface.
- Place one portion of the paneer mixture in the center of the rolled-out dough circle.
- Bring the edges of the dough together to enclose the filling and pinch to seal. Flatten the stuffed dough ball slightly.
- Dust the stuffed dough ball with flour and roll it out gently into a paratha of desired thickness (about 6-7 inches in diameter). Make sure the filling doesn’t come out while rolling.
- Heat a flat pan over medium heat. Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot flat pan and cook until bubbles start to appear on the surface.
- Flip the paratha and spread some ghee or oil on the cooked side. Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides, pressing gently with a spatula.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough and paneer mixture to make more parathas.
- Serve hot paneer parathas with yogurt, pickle, or any chutney of your choice.
- Enjoy your delicious Paneer Parathas!
