Truly authentic brown basmati can only come from the sub-continent of India, where perfect conditions produce some of the world's finest rice. After harvesting, we carefully remove the hull. This preserves the germ and bran layers and results in a highly nutritious whole grain. Enjoy this delicious brown basmati as a main course, side dish, in salads, or in stuffings. Cooking Instructions

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil. For enhanced taste, add 1 Tbsp butter or oil and pinch of salt per cup of rice.

Stir in 1 cup rice, cover with a tight fitting lid, and reduce heat to simmer.

Simmer for 25 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with fork before serving.

Rinse and soak rice for 20 minutes or more.

Strain soaked rice and add to boiling water.

Cook uncovered until desired texture. Drain water from pan, cover and set aside for 5 minutes off heat.
